Apple to release iTV set-top box

Are you looking forward to the... iTheater? While I'm not all that enthusiastic about replacing a DVR or other set-top box with an Apple product, it seems that Apple will definitely roll out the "iTV", a set-top that will include wireless video and audio functions, USB and ethernet ports, HDTV resolutions and more. For $299, it's not that bad of a price for a home theater product, though the exact level of functionality it will deliver isn't being revealed. It'll include optical, RCA and HDMI interfaces and is supposed to be here within the next few months. Interesting, if a bit reaching. Apple seems to be moving more and more towards "home entertainment" instead of "personal computing". And I'm sure Microsoft won't be far behind.
