Canadian Govt approves AMD-ATI deal
While already a go in the U.S. and other areas, AMD was still waiting on the Canadian government for approval on its takeover of ATI, which is a Canadian-based company. They now have the go-ahead, and ATI shareholders voted to a 99% degree approving the takeover as well. Part of AMD's future plans for the company is to increase R&D over and above what ATI was formerly investing. This month, things are expected to start closing.
