Official title list and hardware list of PS3 launch

Details regarding the release of the PS3 and what titles will be available have been posted, along with some extra hardware that will be available for purchase. 21 titles were listed at Gamer's Day, including some existing PC titles such as F.E.A.R. and Oblivion. Some early units will have a DVD included, and at least four pieces of addon hardware are planned:

The first half million PS3 units shipped in North America will include a Blu-Ray copy of the Will Ferrell comedy "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby," which won't be available [separately] until December 12. Sony also announced an official HDMI cable, which will retail at $49.99. A Sixaxis controller will also set you back $49.99, a remote control $24.99, and the Memory Card adapter for PS1/PS2 memory cards will be $14.99.
$50 for a cable. Ouch, considering the pricetag of the PS3 alone already makes it the most expensive console on the market. Not all of the 21 titles will be available on the same day the PS3 launches (November 17th), but are expected to be available in that time period.

  1. $50 for an HDMI cable really isn't too bad considering the price at brick & mortar stores. Try pricing one at Best Buy to see. If it's a standard HDMI cable, though, I'd purchase it online. I have a great place that I order my cables from - I consider them the Newegg of AV cables.
