Gateway begins offering Opteron based servers

Each day that goes by sees more and more companies pushing Opteron servers. Even mighty Dell gave into the craze and offers servers based off the AMD chip. Most recently, Gateway has started offering Opteron servers. Opening up with 3 different models, in 1U, 2U and 3U, Gateway's new servers are using Nvidia's MCP55 Pro chipset and have everything else you'd expect in a standard server, such as hot swap RAID and multiple gigabit ethernet ports. Each of the new systems relies on the Opteron 2000 or Opteron 8000 series, some of the priciest AMD chipsets available.

Not particularly interesting for desktop users, but interesting nevertheless as we see continued acceptance and adoption of the Opteron.
