Wiki ban still in place... or is it?
As an update to today's earlier article regarding Wikipedia's banning in China, it seems the ban that was lifted was temporary at best, though the Chinese Foreign Ministry is not releasing details on whether or not they will lift it again, or even if a ban is truly in place:
Unfortunately, according to internet users inside China, the Great Firewall has apparently locked out Wikipedia yet again. Reports indicate that proxies still seem to circumnavigate The Wall to some extent, but it also appears that the Chinese Foreign Ministry is being tight-lipped as to whether or not the ban is even in place.
Internet Cafes in China sometimes use proxies to get around site filtering, and it seems the english version of Wiki may still be available (though it's unclear at best).
