Ad-Aware 2007 on its way

Although spyware remains a spread problem, it's also true that users are more educated than ever on the subject. This has led to the popularity of a handful of free and paid utilities that help keeping your PC free of various kind of malware. Lavasoft, developer of the highly regarded Ad Aware utility has remained quiet for a while now, however they just announced they are currently closed beta-testing Ad-Aware 2007.

The beginning of 2007 seems an appropriate time to launch, with security experts expecting this year to be one when cyber criminals take their sophistication to a new level.

As users slowly catch on to e-mail (phishing) scams, the scammers need to come up with new tools. It is predicted they will set their sites on social networking websites, instant messaging services, and those making calls over the Internet.
