AMD's 690 series to hit this month
Before the end of February, AMD plans to launch their 690 series chipset, which will be paired with the SB600 south bridge and be one of the first AMD chipsets to ship with IGP, no doubt helped by their recent acquisition of ATI. Intel is the world's largest IGP supplier, so this is the first time in a long time that a company might be able to compete with them. The high end 690G will come with fancy options such as DVI, HDMI and HDCP support for newer DRM content.
