Many have been looking forward to when the G80 series becomes affordable to the masses. The variants in the 8600 series will do just that, though they aren't quite here yet. The DX10 supported cards are expected to be here during 2Q 2007, which is not too far off. Expected to be demo'ed at CEBIT, the cards will bring all the functionality of the 8800 series to a desktop at a much lower price, as long as $159 for the 8600GS.

With the launch of Vista done and migrations beginning, we'll likely start to see DX10 titles begin to surface here and there - so an affordable DX10 card is paramount.
