BitDefender releases AV suite for mobiles

BitDefender is giving smartphones and PDAs a new coat of armor, with the unveiling of an anti-virus package for them. Dubbed BitDefender Mobile Security Solution, it runs on Symbian 60 and 80 and Windows Mobile from 2002 and higher. It's a pretty standard AV client, and includes support for scanning inside of archives.

Viruses that attack mobiles are quite rare, but are by no means non-existant. Many security companies predict that the frequency of malware being written for mobiles will increase, and judging by the increasing complexity and functionality of PDAs it seems pretty likely. BitDefenders software retails for $19.95.
