Microsoft adds "Not sure" category to WGA piracy detection
Despite Ballmers cry to make WGA even more brutal in the years to come, Microsoft has recently lessened the blow it delivers. Likely due to numerous complaints of false positives, they are toning down WGA by adding a third category. Rather than lumping everyone into either “piraters” or “legal license holders”, a third group exists for those who trigger some, but not all, of the piracy-detection functions built into the system. This category is dubbed “Not sure”.
This is important, primarily because eventually WGA will move from being an optional module to being a critical update, and will thus be pulled down as part of automatic updates and will doubtlessly come shipped on any new PC.
