Nvidia announces new game development platform

Nvidia recently announced the deployment of a new platform for advanced game development. The center piece of which is a suite of tools supposed to help ease the transition and optimization of games for DirectX 10. The platform also consists of Nvidia’s GeForce 8 Series graphics cards, nForce 680 motherboards, and DirectX 10.

The new 'SDK 10' includes new texture tools, DirectX 10, OpenGL, and CUDA code samples, shader performance information and library, and is supposed to deliver “significant performance gains and save developers time in developing and optimizing games”. Some of the new tools are already available online through Nvidia’s developer site.
