Microsoft's Live for PCs to launch on May 8th

As rumored in the previous weeks and hinted at by Microsoft, it's now official that the live service that Xbox users enjoy will be opened up to PC gamers as well. We reported on this a few weeks ago, though Microsoft was short on details at the time. As expected, existing Live members can use the same account they are already using, and similar subscription plans already exist.

Live for PCs will go public on May 8th, which corresponds to the launch of Halo 2 for PC. Likely that will make it extremely simple to team up with other people online with the game. Will Live have the same success for the PC as it does on the Xbox and the 360?
