Shutdown Day asks you to turn off your PC

Every year, it gets easier and easier to leave machines on 24 hours a day. They get quieter, we notice them less. They use less power, and can run off batteries longer. We're more connected – and for some it's harder and harder to stay away from machines. If you haven't heard of it, Shutdown Day is a project aimed at daring people to shut your PCs off for the day. Tomorrow, to be precise, for a 24 hour period. While starting off with just PCs, they are also daring people to go without PDAs, cells, consoles or other tiny computers. The impacts on power draw for the day would be minimal at best, so it's more just something to think of for fun. Read more about Shutdown Day over at their site.

Personally, with how connected I am, I find it difficult to put away my phone even for a few hours.
