Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTX and GTS users everywhere rejoice, for the newest set of Forceware drivers has been released. Or at least, that is, for Windows platforms excluding Vista. The new 97.94 driver package supports the newest 8800 GTX and GTS based cards and brings several new bug fixes. An issue with suspend/resume has been fixed, freezing in certain applications has been adjusted and there are minor performance enhancements for some games. If you're using XP, XP 64, 2003 or 2003 64 head on over to Nvidia's download center and snag them.

  1. It seems they're available only if you select "GeForce 8800 Series". Older models still show the previous drivers.
  2. Blast it, were are my Vista drivers ><
  3. True! Thanks for pointing that out.
  4. Looks like they're for 8xxx series only - I tried installing them for my 7600GS card and it said it couldn't find any compatible hardware.
  5. I have the same prompt with my 7900GS card. The article needs to point that out!
  6. This driver STILL does not address the overlay problems when connecting via DVI. I have a $700 card and a $2000 tv and I have to connect through the friggin S-Video cable. Come on NVIDA, we pay this money so your boys can get the R&D squared away to fix these problems!
