Samsung announces 24" LED backlit displays for PCs

Samsung is introducing even more new toys this week, with their announcement of a 24” LED backlit LCD display. Aimed at bringing much greater visual quality to PCs, the new panels continue to narrow the gap between a PC and a standalone display like a TV. The specs on the displays are fairly impressive, such as a full 180 degree viewing angle and a WUXGA 1920x1200 resolution. The size of the display is the entry point for HD and the resolution has been increased to match, so this display was obviously created with HD content in mind.

It's unlikely we'll see these displays available for a while yet, though the increasing amount of widescreen displays for PCs and HD content available in general make it something worthy of attention. Of course Samsung is talking the displays up, claiming they will offer the same visual quality that “premium” LCD TVs can.
