Sony is preparing the farewell party for one of its most important figures in recent times, Ken Kutaragi also known as the "Father of PlayStation." The company announced that Mr. Kutaragi will retire from his executive position as Representative Director, Chairman and Group CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. June 19, 2007. Ken Kuturagi has contributed a great deal to Sony's current success with four PlayStation platforms launches under his belt.

"I am happy to graduate from Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. after introducing four platforms to the PlayStation family," said Ken Kutaragi, Chairman and Group CEO, Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. "It has been an exciting experience to change the world of computer entertainment by marrying cutting edge technologies with creative minds from all over the world. I'm looking forward to building on this vision in my next endeavors."
It's been announced that Kazuo Hirai, currently President and Group COO, will be promoted to continue Ken Kuturagi's work.
