Two new gaming notebooks from ASUS have been revealed recently, the G1S and G2S, both using Intel’s latest mobile platform codenamed ‘Santa Rosa’ and powered by second generation Core 2 Duo T7500 processors reaching up to 2.2Ghz clock speeds, 4MB L2 cache and 800MHz FSB.

Major hardware specifications on both models are similar with the exception of a 200GB SATA hard drive and 17’’ widescreen display on the G2S versus a 15.4’’ widescreen display and 160GB SATA hard drive on the G1S variant.

Both models will offer 2GB of 667MHz DDR2 memory, DirectX 10 capable Nvidia GeForce 8600M, DVD Super Multi drive, 8-cell Li-ion batteries, Intel's new Wireless Wi-Fi Link 4965AGN Draft-N network adapter and will come bundled with Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium. ASUS is expected to start shipping these models later this month.
