Joost signs with Creative Artists Agency for content deals
Joost, the ad supported internet TV service, announced on Tuesday that it has signed yet another deal, this time with the Creative Artists Agency (CAA) to help secure big-name Hollywood programming for distribution on its online entertainment network.
"CAA will provide Joost greater access to programming through our relationships with networks, studios, record labels, artists and independently-controlled content libraries," Michael Yanover, head of business development at CAA, said in a statement.
Earlier this month, Joost raised $45 million from five partners and investors, including media conglomerate Viacom Inc. and its sister company CBS Corp. Viacom has agreed to supply Joost with programs from MTV Networks, BET Networks and Paramount Pictures, while CBS will provide its CSI series, CBS Evening News, and Survivor.
