Manhunt 2 to be released in North America
Following months of uncertainty triggered by the assignment of an AO rating, Rockstar Games has announced that a modified version of Manhunt 2 has received an M for Mature rating for ages 17 and over, and will be released on the PlayStation Portable, Wii, and PlayStation 2 in North America on October 31.
"Manhunt 2 is important to us, and we're glad it can finally be appreciated as a gaming experience. We love the horror genre. Manhunt 2 is a powerful piece of interactive story telling that is a unique video game experience. We think horror fans will love it," commented Sam Houser founder and executive producer of Rockstar Games.
This is not the first time the controversial game publisher has been forced to alter a game. Back in 2005, the videogame ratings board ESRB changed San Andreas' rating from Mature to Adult following the "Hot Coffee" scandal. Take-Two and Rockstar then modified the game to remove the infamous sex mini-game.
