Latest Vista SP1 build leaks out
A new build of Microsoft's forthcoming Windows Vista Service Pack 1 was distributed last week to a select group of testers. But as it is the norm, the update also leaked to BitTorrent file sharing networks over the weekend.
The package is identified as version 6.0.6001.16633 (longhorn.070803-1655) and is distributed as a 684MB executable .exe file, which besides updating Vista, includes recent versions of Adobe Flash Player and Sun Java. The installation of the update requires no less than three reboots, and once installed Windows Vista is marked as Service Pack 1 v.249.
Although Microsoft has been mostly tight-lipped about Vista SP1, the company recently shared some details about its plans for the first update to Windows Vista, and said the service pack will arrive in the first quarter of next year.
