Vonage to pay Sprint $69.5 million

The Vonage vs Sprint case is finally coming to a close, and it looks pretty bad for Vonage. The courts have ruled that Vonage will pay Sprint $69.5 million in damages, due to patent infringement in several different areas.

As the case has progressed, Vonage had some small victories that at least kept them operating, and ultimately said they will be able to create workarounds for the patents that were infringed upon. However, it is too late to undo what has already been done and as such they will be shelling out quite a bit of cash.

They do intend to appeal the decision, but that didn't stop their share prices drop taking a huge plunge as the news reached investors.
