Valve today announced that The Orange Box game bundle for the PC has finally been released through the Steam distribution system, meaning that if you have pre-ordered and pre-loaded all the files, you should now be able to fire it up. The Orange Box consists of Half Life 2: Episode 2, Portal and Team Fortress 2 as well as the original Half Life 2 and its first episodic sequel Half Life 2: Episode 1.

PC and PS3 boxed versions are due out at retail shortly – on October 17 and November 13, respectively. On the Xbox 360 console system, however, The Orange Box is already available at Amazon for $59.99. If you are not yet convinced to plunk down $49.95 in Steam to get your download going, you can first read some in-depth reviews of Half-Life 2: Episode Two, Team Fortress 2, and Portal – you’ll find that this game bundle is well worth the money.
