Opera Mini 4 goes out of beta

Following three beta releases, Opera has finally launched version 4 of its popular Opera Mini Web browser for mobile phones. The latest version includes iPhone-like browsing capabilities that enable users to see a full overview of a page and zoom in to specific parts using a built-in mouse cursor.

The fourth iteration of Mini also supports Opera Link, a platform for synchronizing bookmarks and user data via Opera's social network called My Opera. Other notable features include a landscape viewing mode and dynamic text resizing to cut down on horizontal scrolling.

According to the company, the new Mini is twice as fast as any other mobile browser, and because it is based on Java, it works on almost any handset. However, before you download Opera Mini 4, it's best to input your carrier and phone details to find out if Opera Mini 4 is compatible with your particular phone and read up any instructions on how to set it up for Internet access.
