Buffalo Technology today announced what it claims is the world’s largest portable external hard drive. Dubbed the MiniStation TurboUSB, this 320GB 2.5-inch unit spins at 5,400rpm and features Buffalo’s Secure Lock Ware utility for 256-bit AES encryption, a “tough armored outer case” and shock-absorbent internals.

In addition, Windows users can protect their data with the bundled 'Memeo AutoBackup' application, which offers scheduled backup and password protection. The drive will debut next month at around $319. Other capacities are also available, starting at $95 for an 80GB drive.
