With the Nvidia G92 series of GPU’s gaining solid ground in the graphics market place, Asus has announced their EN8800GT, the world’s first Nvidia GeForce 8800GT graphics card with a full 1GB of built-in memory.

The DirectX 10 friendly card runs at the same speeds as the regular 8800GT, but Asus claims the extra RAM helps it achieve a 10% higher score in 3DMark06, while its “Glaciator Fansink” will reportedly keep the GPU running at temperatures that are up to 7°C cooler than reference designed boards. The card also includes Asus’ SmartDoctor tool for overclocking not only the core and memory clocks, but the shader clock as well.

  1. Wow! Wonder if it will be hard to get like the 512MB version is now?
  2. It better have a better cooling solution because I run 2 of these 8800GTs 512mb and can feel the heat blowing out of my case
  3. Take my word, the extra memory will barely make an impact in 99% of the titles.
