Second Firefox 3 beta due later this month, test day on Friday

Last month, Mozilla announced the official release of Firefox 3 beta 1 which offered some hot new features for users and web developers. Now, the second beta of the open-source Firefox 3.0 browser has reportedly been handed off to internal testing and should be ready to ship later this month.

Despite delays and other setbacks, Firefox 3 is shaping up to be an outstanding web browser and although it isn't quite up to production quality standards yet, Mozilla is asking for volunteers to run the beta through a series of stress tests this Friday. The tentative release date for Beta 2 has been set for December 21.
