Apple released another security update for both Mac OS X 10.5.1 and 10.4.11 yesterday afternoon, addressing a total of 31 vulnerabilities, 16 of which can be used to inject and execute malicious code. Including Monday’s fixes, Apple has patched approximately 200 bugs in nine security updates this year.

The patches fix components ranging from the Address Book and iChat software to operating system components such as ColorSync, and the IO Storage Family. Apple also released a minor update to its Safari 3 beta code, fixing a cross-site scripting security problem that affects Windows users. The update should be automatically pushed to Mac users through the Software Update function, but you can also go to Apple’s website and download the patches.
