Apple to announce 5 million iPhones sold at Macworld?
Apple is set to announce it has moved nearly five million iPhones as soon as next month’s Macworld Expo, according to 9to5mac, which would bring the company half way to their goal of 10 million iPhones sold by the end of 2008.
Of those five million, roughly 1 million come from Europe, while the U.S. accounted for the remaining four according to 9to5mac’s sources. If these rumored numbers are true, it would represent a significant boost in sales since September’s 1 million iPhones sold milestone – most likely spurred by the $200 price drop. And while sales in Europe aren’t as strong as they are in the U.S., Apple has another year and presumably some big launches in countries like Japan, China, and Spain to crack the 10 million mark.
