Asustek: One million Eee PCs to ship in 1Q 2008
Asustek's Eee PC has been a stunning and (to many) surprising success, quickly becoming popular among many crowds. In fact, it seems the company is having some difficult keeping up with the unexpected surge in demand, with over a million units expected to ship in the first quarter of 2008.
All in all, the company expects to sell 5 million of the units next year. That will put the device as one of the biggest sources of Asustek revenue, paving the road for many future iterations. Those who swore the unit would never take off as it was nothing more than a novelty were mistaken, it seems.
