Daily traffic to video sharing sites nearly doubled in 2007
If you have any doubts about the popularity of video sites, then a recent national phone survey done by the Pew Internet & American Life Project should shed some light on the matter. According to the report, 48% of Internet users are now using video sharing sites such as YouTube on a regular basis. This number is up 45% from a 33% share that was recorded by the organization in a similar study in December 2006.
Although the growth of video usage jumped throughout all demographic groups, the study suggest that the dramatic increase is tied to the popularity of such video sites among men, younger adults (those under age 30), and college graduates. The increased availability of broadband connections was also taken into account. According to the survey, 54 percent of adults now have high-speed internet connections at home, up from 45 percent last year. Check out the full report here.
