Ageia denies takeover rumors
Despite vague rumors to the contrary, Ageia Technologies has come out to say that they are definitely not about to be acquired. The infamous (or perhaps less-than-famous) producer of the PhysX cards has found it difficult to get their hardware into enthusiast machines around the world, which may have been the source of rumors that the company was on hard financial times. That can often lead to buyouts, which would lend credence to rumors assuming the company was about to change hands.
Regardless, the company says they will stay an independent company and do have a “roadmap”, though no details beyond that were offered. I hear less and less about PhysX as time goes on, so unless they are prepared to wow the world I can't see them taking off.
