BiTMicro announces 1.6TB SSD
BiTMicro, who tried to capture headlines last month with the announcement of an 832GB SSD unit, has once again tried to outdo not just everyone else but also themselves. Now they are claiming that on top of having an 832GB unit ready in the near future, they also will have a massive 1.6TB SSD heading for store shelves. Utilizing a 3.5" form factor, the "Altima E3S320" certainly sounds impressive, and with its SCSI interface will be a lot more available to than previous models which used Fiber Channel.
Sound a little too good to be true? Probably, but they claim the unit will be ready before the end of the year. Obviously, these units and their other super high capacity flash units will definitely not be aimed at desktop users. One day, though.
