Nokia and Qualcomm's bitter battle might come to an end with the two companies agreeing to move into peaceful talks. The goal is to avoid more time in court, which would drain resources on both sides of the fence. This would be especially good for Qualcomm, who has suffered serious setbacks ranging from import bans to continued legal struggles with other vendors.

It would be Nokia's goal to fork less money over to Qualcomm for licensing various technologies used in their mobile phones. As the world's largest mobile phone manufacturer, a little bit less on every handset sold could go a long way.
