Super Talent announces DDR2-800 FB-DIMM units

By Justin Mann on February 25, 2008, 9:05 PM
Memory manufacturer Super Talent announced today the introduction of a new series of FB-DIMM components, aimed exclusively at high-performance servers. The T800FB1G and T800FB1GAP units are 1GB DDR2-800 modules carrying a fairly low price tag considering they are fully buffered DIMMs. Obviously not for someone looking for blistering performance on the desktop, don't expect to find them on store shelves.

FB-DIMM is relatively unheard of in the desktop world, but it fills an important need in the server market. The technology was a newcomer just a few years ago, but has proven itself as a viable solution for high-performance server applications following its acceptance by JEDEC.
