Asus set to announce 8.9-inch Eee PC 900?

What’s new in the Eee PC rumor mill? Well, according to French site BlogEEE.net, Asus will soon expand its Eee PC family with the rumored 8.9-inch follow-up to the tiny notebook. The new laptop, dubbed Eee PC 900, should be the same size as the original 7-incher but feature a larger 8.9-inch screen.

Other rumored additions include 1GB of memory (up from 512MB) and larger SSD storage capacity of 12GB (up from 8GB). We can probably also expect faster processors, but there’s no word on exactly which processor the new units will use. The Eee PC 900 will reportedly be Windows-ready and should begin selling this summer starting at €399 – hopefully, that won’t mean a $600 base price in the US.

  1. if it will be $600 you're better off buying something else XD
  2. Still the screen is way to small for viewing videos for any extended length of time
