It seems Intel is expanding the hardware profile of the Centrino 2 label, adding another IGP unit onto the already reported and planned IGP chipsets. With the GM45, GS45 and GL40 aimed at the entry level, midrange and workstation markets, it seems they also want to snag a bit of the "performance" market in which better GPU performance is expected. To this end the company reportedly plans to offer a buffed up version of the GM45, the GM47 IGP Chipset.

The GM47 will be an X4500HD GPU, the same found in the GM45, but with a higher stock clock frequency. Intel isn't confirming whether this is an official plan though, and I can hardly see how IGP could ever stand to compete with discrete graphics.
