Patch Tuesday for March has arrived, bringing with it some very important fixes for Windows and particularly Office users. With four patches pushed out, a total of twelve flaws rated as “Critical” in Office have been fixed, ranging from flaws in Excel 2000 to PowerPoint 2007 to Word 2004 for the Mac. Most of the flaws are listed as being capable of resulting in remote code execution and system compromise.

Pretty much every MS Office product is listed, from Visio to PowerPoint to Visual Studio. That’s quite the load, and is definitely a patch set worth getting for anyone who uses Microsoft’s productivity suite. Some of these flaws have obviously existed for quite some time.
