OCZ delivers high-performance SSDs

The SSD market is getting mighty crowded these days and OCZ Technology is looking to throw its hat into the ring with an ultra-fast SATA II drive of its own. Though their 32 and 64GB capacities aren’t all that impressive when it comes to 2.5-inch solid state drives, OCZ’s new devices do claim a massive 120 MB/s read and an even more impressive 100MB/s write speed.

It’s not the first time this week we’ve reported new SSD products with emphasis on high performance, but OCZ’s drives will allegedly be priced considerably lower at $499 for the 32GB model and $1099 for the 64GB model – though still hardly at a price-point of mainstream storage devices. The drives should start appearing at retailers like Newegg in the coming weeks.
