Red Hat acquires Amentra

By Justin Mann

On March 17, 2008, 2:08 PM

Red Hat is expanding their consulting presence, with the addition of another company into the mix of their increasingly large list of services. Amentra will be acquired by Red Hat, though it will remain operating independently. The company works primarily with JBoss, which is now owned by Red Hat, and is part of an overall expansion goal that Red Hat has. With this acquisition, Red Hat gains a number of high-profile companies that rely on JBoss as customers, such as ExxonMobile.

The financial details of the deal aren't mentioned. Red Hat might continue this trend, looking to gobble up companies that dealt with selling or servicing JBoss in the past.
