Ubuntu 8.04 beta released
For all you Ubuntu lovers that like to live on the bleeding edge (the bleeding edge of the Ubuntu world, that is), a new beta for the distro has been released. Ubuntu 8.04 beta is now available for download, bringing with it a host of package updates and configuration changes. Xorg 7.3 comes stock with 8.04, along with a newer build of the kernel, an updated version of Gnome, Firefox 3 Beta 4 and many others. Security enhancements are also included by default, such as a better memory protection schema.
They advise against installing it on production machines, which is probably a smart decision. If you would rather wait until it comes out of beta, 8.04 is expected for official release in April.
