Fujitsu is one of the handful of companies trying to push the technology envelope in storage. As part of their Green Policy Innovation initiative, Fujitsu has announced their new 2.5-inch MHZ2 BJ series hard drive which boasts of a 7200RPM speed, a 2.3W power consumption, and support for the Serial ATA 3.0 Gb/s interface.

With more consumers than ever looking at laptops as the more convenient option over traditional desktop computers, it is only logical to have manufacturers paying special attention to this segment. Over the past 36 months we have seen dramatic improvements on the processing side of things, while storage has continuously been getting a boost, although remains by far the least accommodating feature of mobile devices today, at least in terms of performance.

This new generation of Fujitsu hard drives are expected to become available next June for a yet undisclosed price.
