Adobe patches Flash player flaw
Adobe is finally working on patching a fairly serious bug found in Flash. The cross-platform vulnerability initially affected hundreds of thousands of websites, for which Adobe stepped into action by patching their development tools. Now they are working on finishing the job, but with no firm date set.
The update will affect the player software, rather than the SWF files themselves, making it a more wide-reaching fix that will hopefully take care of the many people who use Flash on a day to day basis, sometimes inadvertently to them. No figures were released on estimates of how many people were actually affected by the flaw, merely an estimated number of websites that could be vulnerable.
