Sprint and Samsung announce Instinct, an iPhone competitor
With CTIA 2008 in Las Vegas right now, many upcoming mobile and wireless devices are being showcased and announced for eventual release in the Americas and Europe (the Asian market is usually very early to the high-tech gadgetry with a few exceptions). Not surprisingly, many more refined iPhone clones are popping up, and Spring and Samsung have one that looks really good.
The "Instinct" is expected to become available next June, and as you can guess it will be a Sprint exclusive (yes, we hate the carrier exclusivity thing, too). Key features include a 2GB microSD card expandable to 8GB, a 2 megapixel camera, GPS navigation, Visual Voicemail, and perhaps most importantly, it will use Sprint's EVDO network for fast Internet access. No word yet on pricing or specifics on the Instinct's software platform.
