Acer to offer WiMAX-enabled notebooks by July

Acer is working in what maybe one of the first WiMAX-capable notebooks available this year, perhaps as early as this summer. It seems that Acer's newer laptops based around Intel's Montevina core will be the company's first such endeavor. But of course, if you are in the U.S., don't expect to see these anytime soon as Acer will likely aim at the Taiwanese WiMAX market, which has a much larger presence.

But with an increased product portfolio, WiMax adoption may still see some benefit and perhaps an increased desire to make it available worldwide.
