Microsoft has faced numerous lawsuits over the Xbox 360, ranging from class action suits brought up by angry customers to patent infringement lawsuits from other companies. Microsoft is getting some reprieve, though, with a recent court case falling largely in their favor.
A jury found that Microsoft did not infringe on many patents that Alcatel-Lucent was suing them over, with the court ultimately causing 13 of the 15 claims to be withdrawn or dismissed. Last year, Alcatel was awarded $1.5 billion from them on the other claims, but that is currently under appeal. For the most part, however, Microsoft is out of the woods on this one.
