Asustek Eee PC to ship over six million by end of 2008

Asustek expects the Eee PC to continue to sell like hotcakes. The President of Asustek claims that they are on track to see a 50% growth rate for this year, which would end up producing for them around 6.6 million deployed Eee PCs in the world. All these shipments move them towards 10 million within a few years.

The company believes that their willingness to adopt Celeron M CPUs will help them avoid issues with Atom shortages, the same thing they were saying early last month. They are also helped by the fact they will have 3rd parties manufacturing the units for them. Apparently the increased competition from other vendors has not yet affected Asus.

  1. "Apparently the increased competition from other vendors has not yet affected Asus."Hmm... I hope that's not true.I mean, the market was looking for something very specific with these "Small, portable, efficient, low-cost laptops", now take out one of these and they won't sell much...I hope competition made Asus drop prices, because 'I' can get something much better for lower prices than Asus right now.
