Intel and DreamWorks form partnership

By Justin Mann

Intel got quite a PR boost today following an announcement they and DreamWorks made. It seems that DreamWorks has opted to ditch AMD after a three year deal and instead move forward with Intel to be the hardware provider behind their 3D film animation in the future. Originally, DreamWorks picked AMD when they were doing very well back in 2005, due to the numerous advantages AMD had over Intel at the time. Things have changed dramatically since then, particularly since the introduction of the Core and Core 2 architecture. DreamWorks believes the switch will help them speed up production.

AMD responded to the change of heart, saying that these things are cyclical. You can read more in the official press release from Intel.
