OCZ announces SLI-certified PC2-8000 memory kits
OCZ added more hardware to their enthusiast profile this week, with the introduction of the “world's first” SLI-Certified PC2-8000 memory kit. The extremely fast DDR2 modules are available only as a 2GB or 4GB kit, and operate at a very snappy 1000MHz with 5-4-4 or 5-5-4 timings, based upon whether you are using an Intel or AMD chipset.
The memory modules are supposedly designed to function only with a BIOS and motherboard chipset that can handle them, and OCZ specifically mentions the nForce SLI MCPs as compatible. It's likely they will work in other boards, but obviously they are making it a point to mention that they are designed to work with Nvidia-based boards. You can read more about the modules in the official press release or on the product page.
