Final Fantasy XIII coming to the Xbox 360

Since the departure of the Final Fantasy series from the Super Nintendo, Sony has enjoyed a nearly exclusive presence of the games on their consoles. With few exceptions, the FF series and PlayStation have gone hand in hand, which has been welcome to Sony who tries to play up the advantage of exclusive content.

Unfortunately for them, they are losing that particular exclusive advantage with the next iteration of Final Fantasy. Square announced in a recent press conference that Final Fantasy XIII will be available for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. What's more, Microsoft won't have to wait months for their version, with FF XIII for the Xbox being made available on the same day as on the PS3.

That's definitely a plus in the Xbox 360 arena, and for every title that is released on both platforms is one less reason for a 360 owner to pitch in for a PS3.

What makes it worse for us with a Sony is that development on the X360 version is not starting till the PS3 version is complete. But, this game is basically a timed exclusive for Sony as it is not being released for Japanese X360s and the Japanese will be getting the their version of the game before America and Europe.

Nod to Microsoft.Good job fellas. I didn't think that they would make a dent in Sony's PlayStation dominance. But the 360 really showing it's strengths now.
