Nvidia brings SLI to Intel Bloomfield CPU platforms

By on
It appears that Nvidia has bowed to Intel in the licensing agreement standoff regarding Nvidia chipsets. The graphics firm today announced that it will be bringing its SLI technology to the coming Bloomfield line of Nehalem CPUs from Intel. New motherboards catering to Bloomfield CPUs and Intel’s X58 chipset will use the nForce 200 processor to allow support for 3-way and 2-way SLI.

This is certainly good news for fans of Intel motherboards. The move may also help Nvidia in its talks with Intel over whether it can make chipsets that work with Intel's next-generation Nehalem platform, though Intel has previously stated it is “not seeking any SLI concession from Nvidia in exchange for granting any Nehalem license rights.”
