Nvidia brings SLI to Intel Bloomfield CPU platforms
This is certainly good news for fans of Intel motherboards. The move may also help Nvidia in its talks with Intel over whether it can make chipsets that work with Intel's next-generation Nehalem platform, though Intel has previously stated it is “not seeking any SLI concession from Nvidia in exchange for granting any Nehalem license rights.”

What's not said here is that it will cost an extra $30 to add that nForce chip just to have SLI. No thanks. |

You're missing the point. If you can get a SLI board with an nForce chipset at let's say $100 & you can get another board with the same features but with an Intel chipset for $30 more, you'll go for the first motherboard without hesitation.It's a way for nVidia to offer an ugly solution to Intel & make it seem like the only reason you don't have SLI on an Intel based motherboard is because of none other than Intel. |

Well, most NVIDIA chipsets here cost up to $200 more depending on the boards features. I think ASUS and Gigabyte's cheapest nForce chipets are like $100 more than an X48. So an X48+$30 extra for SLI is a good deal. |
